Athletes from all over Russia have been travelling to Krasnoyarsk for almost 50 years in hopes of studying at Dmitry Mindiashvili’s Academy of Freestyle Wrestling. There they could get the chance to learn not only tips about athletics from this gifted legend, but also about his unique philosophy on life — the philosophy of a champion. Mindiashvili’s students — Ivan Yarygin, Levan Tediashvili, Buvaisar Saitiev and many others — are known all over the world. He has introduced the harsh, uncompromising, yet beautiful world of wrestling to hundreds. Each of his students would happily bow down to this wise man, legendary coach and academic that helped to define and give personality to the athletic arena that is nowadays followed and admired by fans all over the world.
