Fishing in the lower reaches of the Volga in October

The Volga is one of the largest rivers in Russia and is home to more than 70 different species of fish with more of half of them commercial. The place where the Volga meets the Caspian Sea is enormous, full of reeds and fairly shallow water. Here you can find an abundance of channels, creeks and estuaries as well as a lot of fishermen looking for trophy-worthy catfish, pike perch and carp. Others flock here in hopes of a more modest catch such as Caspian roach, bream, perch and rudd. Regardless of the fish these men come to catch, an October trip here is fun for everyone.
