Koptelovo Village-Museum of Peasant Lifestyle

Koptelovo is an ancient Urals village on the shores of the River Rezh. It is home to a museum of peasant agriculture and the peasant way of life. Koptelovo is often described as a «living» museum — within it, you can touch everything, look into every corner, and even test your own skills and abilities. The museum’s curators have managed to assemble the largest collection of agricultural implements and artifacts in the Urals. All these items, during different periods, belonged to the inhabitants of Koptelovo. Today, the museum complex comprises a 19th century house, a hall focusing on the history of agriculture, a handicrafts pavilion, a smith’s workshop, memorial exhibitions and the main attraction — a genuine peasant «izba» cabin of the 17th century, built without a single nail, that has managed to preserve its original appearance.
