t's been thousand years ago that jewellery craft existed in Kostroma Oblast. Traditions of artistic processing of metal was passed on from one generation to another, new technologies and methods were invented and improved. Today more than three hundred enterprises of this type operate in Kostroma. Ancient technique of skani* (also known as filigree) which is a delicate kind of jewellery metalwork made with twisted threads. Having visited jewellery production, presenter of RTG TV Ludmila Shiryaeva learnt technology of creation gold and silver decoration and produced filigree patterns for rings with her own hand.
