Grand-Model Russia

Russia, a century-old country with a rich history and culture, is home to many impressive places. Many of them – or at least images of them – can all be seen as part of the 3D model of Russia in St. Petersburg. The Grand Model of Russia covers an area of 800 metres and consists of everything you can imagine - rivers, lakes, plains, hills, villages, towns and large cities. There are also tunnels and bridges, ports and airports, factories and mills. The lights in the houses turn on while the streets are full of moving cars. Visitors are often especially impressed by the moving trains that run throughout the entire display. Creators of the project laid down two kilometres of railroad tracks and installed more than 400 control switches. At the exhibition the sun really rises and sets, showing life both during the day and at night. The most important thing however, is to catch a full glimpse of the biggest country in the world.
