Angarsk Clock Museum

Modern man is in a constant hurry. He wants to get a lot done, and because of this there’s no time for him to think about how the world works, what his rhythm is at any given moment and how this reflects on man himself. However, from time to time it’s worth taking a break to think about these relevant questions. In the small Siberian town of Angarsk, there is a place where people know how to save time. This is where Russia’s only clock museum is located. It was opened after one Angarsk resident, Pavel Vasilevich Kurdyukov, donated his collection of clocks to the city. Today this collection, with pieces from all over the world, numbers almost 1,500. Among them are the rarest English and French clocks from the 18th century, incredibly accurate German chronometers from the 19th century and many other devices and mechanisms associated with watchmaking.
